Same-Sex Marriage based Adjustment Interview

On February 23 2016, I attended my first same-sex marriage based adjustment interview for lawful permanent residence “Green Card.” It went pleasantly smooth and well! I was pleased at how attentive the USCIS Officer was towards my clients. I had prepared them diligently and was expecting to be interrogated at length, however that was not the case. My clients were thoroughly prepared and we had submitted ample bona fides for the adjustment which the USCIS Officer really appreciated. The clients were very happy when the USCIS Officer told them that she was approving their case and that he was going to be receiving his lawful permanent resident card in less than a month. I am happy to see advancements in Federal law regarding same sex marriages and the positive strides USCIS is making for family unification.
